It was a great tour. We learned a lot about the town, saw a lot of interesting places, and were able to take some great photos from unbelievable locations (where most tours do not go). Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable. Thanks for a great tour. -

We had a awesome time. The tour guide on the bus was very knowledgeable, The weather was great and the sites were amazing. The only place in town that had Alcatraz tickets... We had a Great Day! Thank You "GuideYou.com" -

The tour was so much fun! Our guide was knowledgeable and kept us interested the entire time. The tour was perfect and I would do it all again. -

Great way to start your first trip to San Francisco. The bus tour gives you a good idea where everything is at and what you might want to revisit. Then they drop you off right at the pier for Alcatraz tour. -

Good tour. More importantly, the tour operator was extremely friendly and flexible with our constantly changing schedule. -

We really enjoyed the tours, particularly the bus tour. Our driver was really knowledgeable and clearly a seasoned expert about San Francisco. -
We really enjoyed the bus tour of San Francisco. It's a great way for first time visitors to the city to see a lot in a short time. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and informative so we learned a lot about San Francisco. The Alcatraz tour was also very enjoyable - the audio tours provided on site were very thought provoking. We missed the North Beach walking tour unfortunately because we were leaving San Francisco the next day. Something for next time! All in all we were glad we booked these tours. It was a great day!

Our guide and driver rewarded us for being prompt with our allocated times at specific locations. An unexpected drive through Haight- Ashbury was such a welcomed treat!!! Knowledge and background info into City Tour gave so much more meaning about the points of interest. Highly recommended. A ticket to Alcatraz during August is not the easiest to obtain, especially when you've left it to the last minute. Thanks to GuideYou I made it to Alcatraz. Wow!!! Didn't have enough time in San Francisco to do the Chinatown walk. As the ticket was transferable, I was still able to give it to a friend. Next time I'm in San Francisco I will be using GuideYou for sure. Don't waste time checking out other tour companies. -

This was well worth the money. Did not get to to the walking tour but thoroughly enjoyed the Bus tour and Alcatraz. We saw so many things on the bus tour - even the Golden Gate Bridge which I did not think we were even going to drive on. This tour is well organized the the guides were fantastic and knew their stuff. We were right at the back of the bus and had no issues hearing. Just make sure you bring a jacket or sweater as it is chilly. Alcatraz was fantastic. The pier was a little bit of a walk but nothing to really complain about (10 minutes). Thanks for the great adventures. Totally recommend this tour.

I was reluctant to book this tour on-line and pay in advance, but it was the only tour where I could get to Alcatraz. It was a great tour. The bus was open and not double-decker, and covered most of the city with 70's music playing in the back. (I am not sure what they would do in bad weather.) The Alcatraz tour was at 3:20 which didn't leave us enough time to stay on the island but was great. I thought the walking tour was worth it, especially for those of us that grew up in the 70's. It wasn't as relevant for the kids but Tara was cool and knowledgeable. All in all, a great deal. I would give it a 5 had we got to stay in Alcatraz longer. -

i would like to give thanks to all the staff at guide you as well as jack. we had booked this tour and were really excited to do it, but on our way up we had some car trouble and were not able to make it. Guideyou and there staff were able to make arrangements for us that really helped out. Thanks again and i look forward to re-booking any tours in the san francisco area with you. -

There were four of us and we loved it. We had the 24 hour "off and on" type tour. All four of our guides were informative and entertaining. Content scope and detail was just right. -
Stanley, PA Posted Aug 20, 2012
Daniel did a fabulous job showing us a lot in only 3 hours...we loved the music and his comments. The ferry to Alcatraz and the tour, complete with audio supplies, was also quite good...we appreciated being able to wander and listen and stop as necessary. Victoria is one of the most enthusiastic tour guides we've ever met! She really knows her stuff and makes you want to stop and have that wonderful coffee at Cafe Trieste!!! Please keep up the great quality. Thank you. -

Great tour of San Fran on the party bus, with a very knowledgeable driver who kept us humming with appropriate theme music for the various areas visitied. The Alcatraz Tour was fantastic!..and this tour was the only way I could've purchased an Alcatraz tour as they were sold out, so it was a life savor for me and my son. The new self-guided MP3 tour of the prison is awesome, very well produced with actual voices of the prisoners and the guards leading you around the prison, really made you feel like you were there in that hell-hole. All n all the entire day was spectacular...kudo's to the staff! -

It was a wonderful experience and the Guide was exceptional! He took extra time for us and was incredibly knowledgeable. I will be back in San Francisco in December with my husband and will go again to let him enjoy this great tour too! -
Tour was fantastic. You booked me this tour when everyone else said it was booked out for 3 days
-
sam, Posted Sep 18, 2012
We are really glad that we bought this package...this is the best way to see San Fran in a 4 days vacation. We covered most of the scenic views and historical places, the tour guides were very knowledgeable. -
Sarah, Posted Sep 11, 2012
First off, I tend to dislike guided tours. I am more of a research and do-it yourself kind of traveler. However, when I saw that all Alcatraz tickets were sold out, I had to get over my anti-guided tour inclinations and just go ahead and buy a tour from Guide you. It was the only place that still had Alcatraz tickets for the dates I would be in San Fran. You know what? I loved the guided tour! It took me to the places I was not going to be able to reach during my short stay, and it was very informative as well. Unfortunately, I did not go on the walking tour, but I am sure if the bus tour was any indication it was probably pretty cool as well. And, most importantly, I got to go to Alcatraz :-) -

It was an excellent tour. The guys were great on explaining the city and also with some knowledge only a local would know. They kept the group informed and made the trip fun - it was one of the highlights of the day. -
LOREN, Posted Aug 21, 2012
Had a great time! We did the Alcatraz tour on Saturday at 11am and the city tour at 3 pm that afternoon. Alcatraz is self-paced with audio and it was wonderful. Did the city tour with an excellent tour guide... ran out of time for the Chinatown walking tour since we did the wine country tour on Sunday. Would highly recommend this tour package and company! Everything was well organized! -
Rebecca, Posted Aug 1, 2012
Used this to get last minute Alcatraz tickets. Alcatraz of course is great. The Chinatown Walking tour was great. The tour was more of North Beach than Chinatown. The guide was very knowledgeable, kept our interest and made it fun to walk around up and down the hills of the city for 2 hours. The 3 hr. city tour was fun but we had to jump off the bus early because it was running over time due to traffic and we had another commitment. -
Sean, Posted Jan 3, 2013
This is a great tour particularly if you can't get a tour to Alcatraz alone; you really need to book in plenty of time if you want to do this. More costly yes but well worth it. The bus tour is great and you get to see the best sites in the city. GUide was knowledgeable and engaging. Thoroughly recommend it. -
Had such a great time with my wife. Will buy from Guideyou again.

It was great! The bus tour was much more then we thought it was going to be. Only thing I wish it had been a little warmer! Just remember to bring a jacket, hat and mittens and you will be fine! -
JEFF, Posted Sep 10, 2012
All three trips were excellent but the city tour on the open buss was cold.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamYes, San Francisco summers are notoriously cool! It's always a good idea to pack a jacket. -

We booked this tour through GuideYou.com for one reason only - we couldn't get Alcatraz tickets anywhere else as they were all sold out. We were a little skeptical about booking through a broker as we just couldn't understand how they could be selling tickets that were unavailable everywhere else, but we booked anyway on the hope it would turn out to be as good as it seemed. It was! We very quickly received a confirmation email containing all the information we needed and explaining that the Alcatraz trip would most likely be at 3.20pm rather than a morning one as these tickets were more readily available - we would have preferred an earlier one but at least we were going to get tickets. We arrived to collect our tickets at the given time and found to our delight that they had managed to get tickets for the 1.10pm boat to Alcatraz, giving us much more time on the island. The first part of the experience was the 3 hour city tour which set off at 9.30am on an open top tour bus. We really enjoyed the tour, the bus was comfortable and offered great views of the sights, the tour guide was incredibly well-informed and very enthusiastic too which made it all the more enjoyable. The only thing we didn't enjoy was that it was absolutely freezing! We went on a particularly cold, foggy San Francisco morning so the first hour of the tour was pretty chilly and foggy (as can be seen from the photograph) - but that can't be helped! They also offer an afternoon tour which I think would be more enjoyable as the weather tends to warm up by lunchtime and the fog burns off. Inclement weather aside, the tour was absolutely fantastic and you really do get to see everything worth seeing in the city. The second part of the experience was the trip to Alcatraz. We had really been looking forward to seeing Alcatraz and as I mentioned earlier, these tickets were the only reason we actually booked the triple experience in the first place. The time they managed to get for us was great, we got on the 1.10pm ferry across and could have stayed until the last ferry back at 6.10pm if we so chose. I don't think I really need to say too much about Alcatraz as I'm sure everyone who wants to visit already knows all about it and it doesn't really reflect on this company - they just provided the tickets. It was great though! The final part of the experience was the 2 hour walking tour of Chinatown. We took this on a different day the the other two parts which meant we had something to look forward to on another day. What the information doesn't tell you is that the walking tour is actually of the Little Italy and Chinatown parts of the city - an hour in each place. The Little Italy section of the tour was interesting, the guide told us about the buildings and the history of the area and about some of the famous writers who frequented the area. She obviously knew the area well and had lots to tell us - our guide actually lived in this area of the city. We then moved onto the Chinatown part of the tour - once again she pointed out some of the more interesting buildings, told us some of the history of the area and showed us where some of the best restaurants were. We spent a large portion of the tour in a tea shop enjoying a free tea tasting - this was very interesting but the only criticism I have is that anybody can walk into the shop and have free tea tasting, so we could have done this ourselves without paying for the privilege. The final part of the tour was a very brief visit to the Fortune cookie factory - we were there a total of 5 minutes. This was billed as the 'highlight of the tour' and I was slightly disappointed, it was just a tiny little room with people sitting rolling fortune cookies. It would have been more enjoyable had we been able to stay a little longer and watch, and perhaps had we been given time to decide if we'd like to buy something but unfortunately another enormous tour group arrived almost at the same time as us so we had to leave quickly. All in all we enjoyed the walking tour and it was definitely worth going on, but don't get too excited about the fortune cookies! We would definitely book with GuideYou.com again - the tours were fantastic and so was the service. For anyone who is feeling like we were (a little skeptical about the legitimacy of the tickets) please don't worry, they are completely genuine!
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamThanks for taking the time to share your experience. Here's how GuideYou.com has Alcatraz tickets for sold out dates: Our vendor has an annual contract to purchase blocks of Alcatraz Tickets. These tickets are purchased a month in advance. Alcatraz is a National Park and the Park Service mandates that these tickets then can only be resold in tour packages and cannot be sold separately. If our calendar shows a date as available then still have tickets at that time (though quantities may be limited). We do sell out also so book early if you want to "go to jail". -

Alcatraz was fine, lots of time provided to see the place. The self-guided tour was excellent. Also enjoyed the ferry to and fro. Chinatown walking tour fun and interesting. North Beach tour not so interesting and not so fun. We were herded into the Jack Kerouac place and were there far too long. These sorts of stops should be very short, allowing those who have the interest to know about it and go back later. -

Both the Alcatrez and Chinatown walking tour were a great experience. Out Chinatown guide Ms Victoria was very warm and welcoming. She had extensive knowledge about the SF city and provided us with a lot of information. -

We very much enjoyed these tours! We were there for the first day of bus tours with the new bus company, and it was great. no problems whatsoever. great tour guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining! we also enjoyed the Alcatraz tour... nice ferry ride and great audio tour on the island. Sadly, we did not get a chance to use our tickets for the Chinatown walking tour, but we hope to try again on our next visit to SF. thanks! -
THANK GOD FOR THIS COMPANY! THEY HAD TICKETS THAT EVERY OTHER PLACE WAS SOLD OUT OF. MY VACATION WAS SAVED BECAUSE OF THIM, AND EVERYONE WAS VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY!!!
-
My family and I had a great time on the 3hour city tour and Alcatraz tour. Seemed like a good value especially when we were not able to get Alcatraz tickets anywhere else. The tour driver was great and it was an amazing way to view the city.

The city tour stopped at the main sites to see and was very informative. I would highly recommend it. Going to Alcatraz was awesome. -
I enjoyed the Alcatraz tour the most. I like the fact that you had lots of time to visit the island. The city tour was great also. I could get a look at the city and it helped me guide my visit of Sanfrancisco.

The bus tour was great and informative. Alcatraz was also very good. I did not have time however to do the walking tour. -
ILENE, Posted Jul 16, 2012
This package was terrific (helped by some great San Francisco weather that allowed us great views from our vantage points). We really enjoyed the city tour. It gave us a great overview of the city and took us to places we would not have gone ourselves. We could have used more time in Golden Gate Park to see the Japanese garden. Alcatraz was great. The ferry was easy to catch, and we had plenty of time to explore the island. We did not take the Chinatown walking tour because we had already been through it. I would recommend this package. -
My wife and I booked the Alcatraz+City Tour+ Chinatown tour because it was the only way that we could get Alcatraz tickets since they had sold out. We really ended up enjoying the 3 hr. city tour. Our guide was both entertaining and informative. The only downside is that the walking tour is advertised as a Chinatown walking tour, but most of the tour is of North Beach. The guide was friendly as well though. So, overall we were satisfied with this tour.

We had a wonderful time on all the tours. Our tour guides on both the bus and the walking tour were awesome. We loved learning so many interesting facts and stories about the early days of the city and the guides were delightful! I have only one suggestion - tell people that it gets very cool on the walking tour. We were not dressed appropriately. Thanks for making our visit to SF so memorable!
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamBarbara - Thanks for telling everyone to bring a Jacket. Our City can go from warm and sunny to foggy and cool in just a short while! We are glad GuideYou guided you to a good time! -
Maria, Posted Aug 17, 2011
Our trip was great. This was my first time in San Francisco and I really enjoyed it. The Alcatraz tour was very informative. Walking around with the audio made it more intense, as if you were living what was happening in the story. The Chinatown tour and Double Decker Bus tour were fun. We experienced S.F. by walking around each neighborhood and we saw how busy it can get while riding on the bus. I would love to go back and see the rest of the city and also visit the Golden Gate bridge. This trip was too short, but a great experience for being a first time. -
RICHARD, Posted Aug 5, 2011
Overall a good experience, but we didn't hear 90% of one of the bus tours that the lady from New York did, because speakers in the back of the bus kept shorting out. The Chinatown tour was very good, but I was very curious why there was no mention of Bruce Lee, the world renowned martial artist, since he was born in San Fransico, and lived there for many years. -
Remy, Posted Aug 11, 2011
This is the only way to get Alcatraz tickets during summer. I got this package only for the Alcatraz ticket but was very satisfyed with the package. The North beach/ Chinatown walking tour surprised me. You get to see much more than when you do it on your own. The guide knows everything about these districts their history and people who lived there. The double decker city tour is very classy but a good way to see the main attractions of the city center in 1hour. Not very usefull if you stay a week in the city.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamRemy I think you may of been trying to say that the double decker bus are very HISTORIC (but classy works) - that's what we call them -
William D, Posted Aug 11, 2011
Enjoyed Alcatraz, the double decker tour(twice) and the walking tour. Thanks! -
Mary, Posted Aug 4, 2011
The staff is neither friendly nor helpful. Girl at desk in office talked on phone whole time leaving only one agent helping clients. Our tour bus guide was excellent. He knew his stuff but made culturally insensitive remarks in regard to several sites. He did not allow pushy tourists to crowd the bus seating. Walking tour was really good. We wanted more emphasis on Chinatown, however. Really liked the Fortune cookie bakery. Returned next day to purchase cookies to take home. Our guide took us to businesses that she personally promoted which is suspect in our opinion. Included were other sites fortunately. Most of tour group ate at the Italian restaurant she recommended. Alcatraz was AWSOME. Wish we had more time (we took an afternoon time). Plan at least four hours to thoroughly tour.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamMary, you make a good recommendation that 4 hours of time on the "Island" to really experience AWSOME Alcatraz is necessary. It sounds like you had mixed experiences overall on this tour but it still earned 3 Stars. -
CAROL, Posted Aug 23, 2011
We had a great trip. Guides were knowledgeable and fun. Driver we had one afternoon was quite rude (disappointing), however on a whole was ok. Would do it again.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamHi Carol, Glad you enjoyed your tour and we are equally disappointed you found the driver impolite. We will pass this information along to the tour operator. -

The Chinatown Walking Tour was excellent - our guide was awesome as she lives in that area and was able to share so much history and recommendations on great restaurants. We tried both recommended restaurants and were really happy. The Alcatraz Island tour was powerful. You could really feel the "energy" when you entered the prison. Very informative and a must see. -

Everything was great!! What made it special was the young lady who guided the walking tour of North Beach and Chinatown. She lives in the area, knew many locals in the area we walked, shared sites/experiences that only a local would know, and made a 2 hour walk seem like 15 minutes. -
STEPHAN, Posted Sep 7, 2011
Had a great time on all 3 aspects of this tour! I especially loved visiting the Alcatraz Island and being apart of all of the history there. My favorite part of all was driving over the Golden Gate Bridge in the FOG! ;-)
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamStephan, Glad to hear someone enjoys our fog! -

Great experience. The tour guide for the city was very knowlegeable. I thoroughly enjoyed the Alcatraz experience. The tour guide for the tour of Chinatown was very knowlegeable and provided an excellent tour experience. I highly recommend this tour. -

Alcatraz was a little disappointing, some areas were closed so you could not tour the whole island, the gift store was amazing and the boat option getting back to San Francisco from Alcatraz periodically was convenient. Chinatown was too long but very interesting as far as the history went. The City Tour was okay but the tour guides micro-phone was malfunctioning so we could not hear him or understand him very well.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamPatricia - thanks for your feedback. The prison opened in 1934 and sustained damage during the Native American occupation as well as from the harsh weather conditions. Some areas of the Island are closed for public safety while other areas are protected natural habitats. With that said, the main cell block, prison yard, guard station and several other areas are open to the public. On the night tour visitors can view the hospital as well. -

great way to get around san fran! Alcatraz tkts were priceless!! -
OZLEM, Posted Aug 22, 2011
first of all I would like to tell you that everything was good and well organised. the only disturbing thing was to see that the same tour could be bought in a lower price (written in the booklet) but we couldn't do so because it is another company.. the walking tour was excellent, tara was perfect. thank you
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamHi Ozlem - We offer a low price guarantee so please let us know if you saw the same tour advertised for less. -
Charles, Posted Aug 14, 2011
Excellent, no problems. 5 Stars. -
Ellen, Posted Aug 15, 2011
One really can get the Alcatraz tour at the dock; so, there is a lot of hype out there. The hop-on/hop-off bus was good; but, the Chinatown tour was a waste of time.
Response from the GuideYou.com TeamAlcatraz sells out weeks in advance during peak season so this package is ideal for visitors who forget to buy tickets or decide to do a last minute booking. -

It was great to hope on and off from the dubble decker bus, we went any where and any time! -

We were told on arriving in SanFrancisco by our hotel that the Alcatraz tour was booked out days in advance but took the off chance on ringing your company. Tickets were available and we thoroughly enjoyed our 'added bonus' of the city tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into this beautiful city. unfortunately we didn't have enough time to do the walking tour but they assured us if we came back we could just give them a call to join the tour.
