Sebastiani Vineyards & Winery (Sonoma): One of the oldest wineries in Wine Country, Sebastiani was founded in 1904 by Samuele Sebastiani who emigrated from Italy in 1895. When he first arrived, Sebastiani worked as a stonemason in the hills above Sonoma, supplying stones for the streets in San Francisco. When he had earned enough money, he purchased 2 acres of vineyard planted by the Sonoma Mission in the 1820's. These were part of the oldest vineyard in Sonoma County. One of the original vines remains on the land directly across the street from the current winery. Sebastiani was the only winery in Sonoma County that stayed open during Prohibition (1919 - 1933), making sacramental wines. The joke is that many people became very devout during that time. Sebastiani is known for its carved redwood barrels and its wide selection of varietals including chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, sauvignon gris, pinot noir, zinfandel and cabernet sauvignon. Today, Sebastiani is owned by the Foley family.
Madonna Estate (Napa) Tour and tasting, picnic lunch Located in the world-renowned Carneros region, Madonna Estate wines have been handcrafted by the Bartolucci Familyfor more than 80 years. They are the third oldest winemaking family in the Napa Valley. Madonna Estates wines are created from 100% organically grown grapes which are dry farmed on the estate vineyard. A delicious picnic lunch consisting of California fresh salads and sandwiches will be served on the winery grounds!
Jamieson Ranch Winery (Napa) Jamison Ranch Winery is nestled in the rolling hills of lower Napa Valley, the perfect climate to produce the grape...warm days and cool nights. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which can be a bit temperamental, smile brightly on this property. On the ranch is the now famous "beeline", an immense beehive. Honey tastings are also provided at the winery.
